Water tank from Rommel's Africa Corps

This drinking water tank of the Africa Corps Luftwaffe was probably used on a Messerschmidt Me 323, Junckers Ju 52, Henkel He 111, Dornier or Savoia-Marchetti S.M.82 to supply Rommel’s army in North Africa. Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, the "Desert Fox", had this tank filled with wine and gifted it to the Theresian Military Academy War Academy in Wiener Neustadt, whose former commander he was. The water tank was damaged in one of the many aerial bombings. After the war ended, a winemaker purchased the tank to use it as a wine tank. In 1964 the troop emblems and the marking "property of E. Rommel" were still visible. The winemaker passed the tank on to his nephews, who dubbed it "Rommeltank". Please share any photos or insights you may have on this exhibit.
